Extensions

An extension to scholarship is defined as an increase in time or cost of the scholarship. Apart from the Honours one year extension, only one extension up to six months will be approved.

An extension to the scholarship will only be considered when ALL avenues are pursued to ensure students complete their course on time. An extension of time requires the International Sponsored Students Unit (ISSU) to submit an application for extension to the home country for approval. This process can take up to one month.

Legitimate reasons may include unforseen and exceptional circumstances that are beyond the control of the student and the institution. This does not include health issues, family matters or a death in the family as these are more appropriately dealt with as suspensions.

Research students will need ot follow the Award Variation Application Guide.

Suspension

Suspensions can be for no longer than 12 months.

Transfer

Transfers are only considered if it becomes apparent that the student will not be able to pass or complete the nominated course due to poor grades or academic ability.
