Fieldwork and travel

Travel Home

AusAID finances students' travel to Curtin and their return home.

Family Reunion

The reunion airfare provides students who have been separated from their family with an opportunity to be reunited with them once a year. Students who do not have any of their immediate family accompanying them to Australia are entitled to the reunion airfare. The first reunion airfare can be taken after completion of one year of study if students have received an 80 per cent or greater pass.

Field Work

AusAID finances airfares for fieldwork.

At placement stage it will be stated if fieldwork is required. This ensures that funds have been allocated for the cost of return airfare for fieldwork. Students and supervisors need to complete the Request for Overseas Fieldwork Assistance form before the ISSU will approve the funds for the airfare. To download the form, please visit our Forms page.
